Run a friendly tournament — team registration online

Football, basketball, pétanque, beach volley, darts: here is how to open team-by-team registrations, cap your bracket at a feasible match count, and welcome captains with a QR code on tournament morning.

Typical scenario

Marc heads a casual football club in the Toulouse suburbs. Annual tournament: 16 teams of 5+5, that is 160 players on a single day. Before: a spreadsheet shared with 16 captains, duplicates, captains not knowing who was on their team. Today each captain registers as a leader and adds their 9 players via the multi-participant form. Marc sets capacity at 160 (16 teams × 10), exports the CSV for the full list, and emails the match schedule D-7 to every captain.

3 tips for a tournament that starts on time

  • 1
Multi-participant signup: 1 leader + 9 players per group — The captain registers as leader and adds 9 teammates via the multi-participant form (10 max per group). Total capacity covers every player (16 teams × 10 = 160 seats). No need for each player to register — the captain handles it for the team.
  • 2
Skill level captured by email reply — Add a custom field 'Team level' (single choice: beginner / intermediate / advanced) to your registration form. The breakdown shows up in the participants table — you balance the brackets before the tournament without chasing email replies.
  • 3
One QR per player — fast reception — Each player receives their own QR (or the leader's if no email was provided). At reception, scan each QR — count ~2 s per scan, so 5-6 min for 160 players. Faster than a roll call and you see complete teams in real time.
Save time with the writing assistant — Describe your event in one sentence and let the assistant pre-fill the title, description and registration fields suited to this type of event. You stay in control: review and adjust before publishing.
